there's a special kind of hell reserved for child molestors and people who swear in front of rabbis. and after thursday night's gig, i'll be spending eternity with pee wee herman and fiddler frog. don't worry i didn't molest any children, but a rabbi that wasn't matisyahu did come to my gig (and complained that his vodka and orange had too much orange and not enough vodka). luckily Haim can't understand me when i talk let alone sing.

but the gig was lots of fun. i played my new song Blind Benny's Back for Business, made lots of noise, lost my voice, the ususal stuff. one of the best drinking song singalongs we've ever had.

then after i played The Stomps took the stage. Elliot Brown is a difficult man to describe. he is both too old and too young. too confident and too apologetic. he plays woody guthrie, but then apologises for playing boring old people music, he had the entire crowd hanging on his every word but doesn't yet know what to do with them once he's got them. but he's great. awesome songs. exciting guitar player. i look forward to watching him grow and develop. (Elliot, if you're reading this, i'm happy to open for you anytime, anyway - so to speak).

and if you missed last week's show, this wednesday i'm playing at valve opening for Dark Tones and Plushmor. b

Blind Benny's Back for Business

so this week i've been trying to learn to wear contact lenses. the problems with contacts are:
1. i have to shove my finger into my eye to get them in
2. i have to shove two fingers into my eye to get them out (this is the part i'm having immense difficulty with)
3. while i'm wearing them people can look directly into my soul.

(4. shaun pointed out that i can't play non-contact sports while i'm wearing them, but that one was too bad a pun to mention in my blog)

so this thursday 28th sept i'm at bodega, downstairs in room 101. i'll be playing 10ish, and followed by the Stomps. it'll be good times all round. b
