too busy living to blog

whoops sorry about the delay in blogging, too busy having a life (that's my story and i'm sticking with it).

anyway true but embarrassing story from my past. 11 years ago i was in a 'band' with steve kerr and wendell cooke. we jammed every weekend in Wendell's dead grandma's basement, but we never got very far because we didn't have a singer. we advertised in the varsity magazine and auditioned a whole selection of awful eddie vedder wannabes. one of them whose name i can't remember jammed with us for a few weeks and even sang a few songs with us at a party we played at (it was my 21st - we were awful but the crowd were drunk and my friends - we were a hit). but forgettable singer was just that, and one day soon after in our flat steve and i sat around arguing about which one of us should phone up this singer and tell him that we didn't want him to be in our band. neither of us wanted to make the call and we argued for ages until suddently we stopped arguing and listened and realised that steve's girlfriend of the time had picked up the phone and called the singer and told him that he couldn't be in our band anymore. we were a curious mix of embarrassed and grateful. and i'm sure pete best and dave mustaine didn't get more glamourous sackings.

anyway that band never did much because we had no singer. ironically, 11 years later both steve and i are singers in bands (i have no idea where wendell is or what he is doing - but i'm guessing it involves beautiful asian women).

and if you want to hear both steve and i sing come to the Adelaide Bar on Adelaide Rd, this Saturday night (Aug 5th) 9.30pm - The Plastic Kitchen, The Hi-Aces, and Chris Mystery and the Mint Spies. seeya there.
